The Doc programs I would be applying for are in the evening. My wife would be home from work at that time. I can also take the classes at my own pace (one at a time, or more). My wife is finished with school after her Master's.
I like to pretend that I am a lazy no-gooder, but my wife And I have put ourselves through undergrad degrees and now graduate school.
I think it is fun to play with the notion that it is better to be unemployed than it is to work, because work is sooo ingrained into our cultural fabric. People feel like they have lost their identities when they lose a job. The social pressure to work and be ever more productive is concerning. Or for me, worthy of a good chuckle. I tell my wife I am "value added".![]()
What about volunteering? It looks awesome on anyone's CV.
ah i've been looking into it actually- old people love me!
There you go, plus, if you volunteer in a charity shop, you get first choice on all those cool vintage clothes that come in.
One of my friends managed to get her hands on a Gucci jacket, it was one of those ones with the big shoulder pads they used to do in the eighties, so it looks super fashionable right now!
such a good plan- there are loads of charity shops near me so i will have a browse tomorrow. hopefully i wont be distracted by the vintage stuff btu i don't promise anything![]()
