Thread: How To Compress An Avi Movie ?

    i downloaded a rather large AVI movie and its 713mb and i want to squeez it down to 700-650 ! how would i go about do'n this ? i plan on burning it but as is to big !

    using virtual dub you can compress it to a less quality avi file..and then burn that single file to a cd..but have you tried to burn the file you have yet? you may find it is capable of being burnt on a 700mb/80min cdr/w..
    or alternatively you can split the avi file with vdub or easy video splitter so you end up with 2(or more if you want) files this way not reducing the quality of the file you began with..

    it will fit on 1 cd, why do you want tO shrink it?

    it is not to big. you can fit upto 721mb on a 700mb disc without problems.
    or you could just use a program like vegas 4.0 to change the quality and make it smaller.

    enable "overburning" in nero or whatever prog you use, burn the cd, and your done

    I have managed to fit up tp 718 on some 700 discs, using nero. you load file and it shows if it will fit and some times it will still fit but nero is unable to finalize disc. whish makes no difference with AVI,s.

    800m is normale for a 750 cdr
