    Can someone give me some advice on this issue;

    My pc is
    <span style='color:blue'>
    Amd Athlon XP 1700+
    1.47 ghz
    480 MB Ram (32 Mb Shared)
    Windows XP Home Edition

    My computer keeps rebooting itself for no apparent reason when it feels like it which can result in me loosing my current downloads so I went to

    My Computer (right-click) - Properties - Advanced - Startup and Recovery

    And selected the old blue screen error message and it says the fault is with &#39;Webstar&#39; - My broadband modem

    Does anyone have any advice or tips on how I can stop this?

    Best Regards and Thanks for reading
    Darren

    I wasn't going to buy it in the first place, so me downloading it for free isn't losing them any money.

    Can you go to the web site of that mfg. and see if there is a solution there? Perhaps there is a firmware upgrade or driver.

    What is the model of that modem?

    I don&#39;t know if this will help but try to use the Ethernet connection.

    I&#39;ve seen quite a few posts in the past about some usb broadband modems causing this sort of problem, and in every case the problem has been resolved by driver updates. I can&#39;t say for certain that your model is one of those involved, but it looks like a good place to start.

    Sure it&#39;s not a virus? Sounds exactly like the Blaster Worm.
    Typical symptoms may include Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 systems rebooting every few minutes without user input...
    You probably don&#39;t have it, but you might want to check anyway as a precaution.

    The Blaster Worm doesn&#39;t give error log entries or cause blue screen of death.

    Like I said, probably not the problem. But I think I missread anyway, I was thinking that the rebooting on it&#39;s own and the blue screen are not related because I&#39;ve never seen a BSOD just reboot a comp on it&#39;s own.
