Hold The Line
At a place like this you should probably expect most people to try to convince you to turn to private trackers. It's more secure, there are better speeds, ect. ect.
If you're really dead set on public trackers however, I heard some good things about kickasstorrents. I've never used it before though, so don't quote me on it.

You might also want to have a look at torrentz.com, it lets you search torrents from different sites.

.
You may like VerTor.com, they're an indexer that checks all torrents for malware, DRM, etc.

Torrentz.com is very useful and you should try and get invited to some trackers. There you will find the best torrents and no bogus/fake ones. Lot of unreleased and hard to find data too can be found on some of the good trackers!
