@IdolEyes787: if I heard correctly, the recent backup was stored on the same disk drive that failed.

Couldn't have put it better myself, except for the last part. I was a member of Rabbit and now that it's gone can't really see any replacement in the horizon.
It was a site with good people, that really was different from the rest. It stood out because everybody was on good terms, and help was so easy to get.
This is a shame. I'm a bit late finding this news out, first the Unstoppable Machine ScT is taken down - members of the staff having been arrested, no less - and now a site that was so closed AFA access was concerned (which proves the strictest privacy is apparently not sufficient to warrant safety..) is taken down.
God forbid that any of the team should be taken behind bars too.
RIP FTWR.

either they are lying or they must be really retarded to not backup the site on their comp lol
probably / possibly 2nd opinion sounds more like the truth.
I'll reply you like no one else
Bit torrent site for the most part are someones hobby and sites won't last forever. They move onto other endeavors or challenges, but other sites will pop up and mold them self's in the current environment could be the next site to generate the interest.
Sites will need to continue to evolve with times to be successful,
2003,2004 there was no such thing a ratio free no chance that would have happened back then didn't nee that kind of thing to get members.
These won't be the only sites we love that will eventually disappear
R.I.P The best community in the net .... the best staffers , the best coder's best administration .... and the best friends .
The flag of the hush hush universal sharing community's .
some of us thought that maybe preferable to be quiet , and wait for good days ...but unfortunately that's it .
rabbit for ever
Is this the end of private torrenting as we know it?
