I've had a few .mkv that I have been playing on a wdtv live box that would only play for about 10-15mn before acting like the movie was through and going back to the root folder. Anyone have any experience with whats going on? The .mkv file appear to be good and play on a computer just fine.

Are these mkv located at a NAS server or just an external drive?
There are some network problems reported between WDTV and NAS servers with 1GB ethernet port. Use a 100MB switch between them if this is you case. If it is an external drive you may have to defrag it

Have you done any mod to WDTV live other than official upgrades?
The best way is to post you problem in one of WDTV support forums. Use mediainfo to get mkvs infos

Its an external hard drive. I thought I would post here first to see if anyone else had this issue. I'll try the wdtv forums next. Thanks.
