The issue is that most companies still use the 2003 version, and most don't need most of the benefits that 2007 brought. So, no need to spend extra bucks on software upgrades.
It happens a lot around here. Only companies which have recently acquired new machines use the 2007 version, and ALL use the .doc as reference, for greater compatibility.
The companies take a lot longer to switch hardware than the home user. Heck, I've seen many still running mission critical servers on windows 2000.![]()

I wanna install 07 on my Win7 machine, but I think im gonna wait for 2010 to come out. I will use the open source word processor for time being. Hopefully new office comes sooner than Oct! :-/
office 2k3, 2k7 and 2010 are compatible with windows 7
