Originally it began as a serious attempt to try and find a few decent people and connect them to sites that they might find of some benefit but for whatever reason it failed to be much of a success . Probably because I actually wanted people to show they had an interest in the content of the site they were asking for by opening up and presenting a bit of themselves and not just showing a bunch of silly ratios and speedtests that as we all know really mean nothing.

Since then the thread has morphed into both a catch all and an inside joke and I guess remains mostly because various people, myself included, have a pointless desire to see it reach a certain number of posts.
That and it is someplace that you are perfectly welcome to post whatever you want for whatever reason ,so in that it is kind of poetic.
Lastly I hate to admit defeat and am still waiting to hopefully match a few good people to sites that they might like( although I must say lately trackers aren't making my job any easier what with all the removing and limiting of invites lately).
Already said most of this in post #523 btw.

So is the offer is still open?

If so, tell me and I'll type up a request, otherwise, I wouldn't want to burden you, you've probably read a lot upto this point, already.

@ringhunter he is just waiting for new requests. Do your best

Back on topic I like these concerts for "something" not only for the cause of these events. Some of the best performances happened in these concerts. Back to my favorite 80s

Like I said previously it's open until I definitely say that it's closed and as for burdening me, hardly .If I didn't wish to offer some (potential) help I wouldn't have opened the thread.

Like I also said though, the state of invites on trackers in general lately ( Geez even UG and BitGamer have closed there doors) ,even if I find that you are the most honest ,deserving person in the world and I want to help you out ,there is a chance I may no longer be able to.

Why do you think it changed? And more importantly can anything be done to rectify the problem?

I'm not so foolish to believe that anything lasts forever but I find it hard to comprehend why ,except for a handful of people, no one even attempts to be friendly.
Too afraid it with adversely effect their image elsewhere or see no point in coming to a site if there might not be something directly in it for them?

I can't believe that it was simply because all thought and consideration was limited to the last generation of torrenters.

This is an application for FSC, if you're reluctant to read on, I won't be offended.

Let me first start by saying that I’m not a collector, nor am I chasing trackers for rarity. I’m simply looking for a community and heard FSC was the best available. Had demonoid had the reputation of FSC's community I'd be here asking for it. To explain why I enjoy communities: When I was a member at ScT, it changed my perspective on trackers, more towards the fact that it's the community that matters and ScT’s loss was a shock to me. I've heard multiple times that it's the same old people just under a new tracker address, possibly true. I remember a thread on ScT where I had asked a member where he would be going after the shutdown and he said FSC/FTN. To answer your question on what would make FSC special considering the same members are on other trackers, I think of it this way:

It’s possibly because when you join a tracker you're required to fit in to the environment and the nature of the place. Each tracker is like its own ecosystem, with multiple people trying out the tracker to see if they fit in. If it suits them, they will feel at "home", at a place where they're comfortable. Naturally, when a person goes into a tracker that is not suitable to his personal interests, he will feel less at home, and be less active. Trackers like FSC have established that they're like an ecosystem based on the community rather than focusing mainly on the shared material, and when people join in, they should have an understanding of that, which is why the "active" community, the part of the userbase that fits in with the nature of the tracker, and understands why they are there, strive to make the community the best possible. The tracker's direction, brings out the best in its members. Surely there will be inactives or collectors sitting on accounts, but I'd like to think that people with understanding of the tracker's nature, would fit in and make others who share similar views feel at home.

I realize it’s a long shot and that sear has already ended his deadline, but that won't stop me from trying. I would've applied sooner if it weren’t for university exams, then christmas/new year shopping killing my December 23rd-31st. If FSC is a clear shut door, I will let you decide where I would most probably belong from your experience. I don't want a place with shallow people hunting for invites, or gossiping about torrent news, I want a place with actual discussion, and where people understand what constitutes a good community. The kind where we talk about the latest movie released in theatres, make a witty joke about a funny video on youtube, proceed to talk about politics/theology/morality for a bit, then occasionally discuss the latest scene release, or security, or how seedboxes are changing the torrent seeding world. I’m not looking for a tracker with a lot of content, collectors and an insane amount of posts on the “Rate that ass” thread. I would appreciate it that you not invite me for the sake of it, but only if you truly think I’d fit in with the community. I’d hate to sit on the invite that came out of your good will, only because I don’t fit in/it’s not what I’m looking for.

If you would like to know more about me, I’m your average 3rd year university student, studying Biochemistry/Biotechnology at the University of Ottawa. My name is Faith Smith Cameron, FSC, (recycled joke, I know, haha), actually my real name’s John. I enjoy going out to party and drink with friends a lot, like most people, although I probably do it more than most people do. I’m generally a very relaxed person, never too serious, never annoying to anyone. I understand full well that people’s opinions can clash with mine, and respect other people’s viewpoints when they express them. My favorite movies are Benjamin Button/Shawshank Redemption. They’re the kind of movies that have a simple story that doesn’t confuse you too much, and yet convey a world of meaning regardless of their simplicity. I usually am not the one to say I have a favorite music genre or band, simply because I enjoy a lot of bands, and listen to mostly every genre’s good bands. If I were to pick the genre I’m most inclined to, it would be a toss-up between RnB (the melodies are slow enough to warrant good lyrical production) and metal, which are always good songs to listen to when you need an energy boost.

About my torrenting habits; I have never been warned, I have never been banned from any tracker before. I have been disabled due to activity at a few trackers. I do not think they were disposable, but at the time I felt like I had no time to focus on the tracker and eventually lost the account. On several occasions I have ended up going back to the tracker and becoming a more dedicated member (example: BCG). I am usually a community man, and on many occasions have had more posts than downloaded GB’s on my account. If you want to delve into my BT history, it's understandable, however I felt this should be an application about my intentions rather than how well of a reputation I can maintain. If you would prefer to have me prove my worth/trustworthiness I will not hesitate to provide you with all the material you’d need to assess whether I’d be a sincere good member or yet another collector. Before you ask me why I haven't found a way to get "recommended" to FSC staff before, I was offered to be recommended in, through a trade but I declined. It's unlikely that the tracker staff should have ever found out I traded my way in, however, I felt like it would be cheating the system, and I'm a firm believer that if I truly belong somewhere, I'll find my way in eventually, and legitimately.

You said this thread's point was trying to connect people to where you feel they would be suited, and if by what you've read about me so far feels like FSC would be the wrong place to look forward to getting into, you're welcome to tell me where I should turn my focus to. I have no way of knowing how good or bad a place is until I'm in there, but I have heard great things about FSC's community, mainly from ScT members saying stuff like besides FSC, ScT was the only other community they enjoy being in, and am thus inclined to search for a way in (not to the point of obsession, though).

PS I'm not trying to pry on your sympathy. I only mentioned ScT to explain my reasoning for searching for a new "home". I did not mention it in order to emotionally blackmail you and sway you in favor of helping a homeless torrenter. I wanted to make that clear.

PPS If you do not have the rights to recommend me to the tracker's staff, throw me a bone at least on where would be a better place to search for a good community, whether a different tracker, or a possibly more capable link.

Certainly a well written request but I'm afraid with sear not around here anymore and the way that FSC invites are suppose to work I simply can't even try to invite someone that I don't know .It's not even my decision to make, it just not the way things are done there.
As for finding a community if you haven't been able to find one on SCC where most of the SCTers migrated to ( or FTN since you've apparently been there a long time or BMTV or HDbits) then I seriously doubt FSC will be the solution ( I think you may have to look inwardly to find what the actual problem is though ).

I'm sorry if this comes off as a bit of a knock but I just can't understand how someone with the obvious knowledge and torrenting experience that you possess could possibly 1. not have some friends and need to resort to asking a stranger for help and 2. realize that there are no perfect places and that home and community are not where you find it but rather what you make of it.

PS I think if you don't have anyone to invite you, then now as always, your best chance lies in getting the attention of their staff either here( sadly a lot less likely than it used to be ) or on the other sites that you may have in common.
I'm really a pretty unimportant guy I hope you weren't somehow mislead into thinking otherwise.

PPS I've got a lot of good memories from time in Ottawa .Are you from there or only going to school?
