The drive-thru car-wash always does damage to the paint. I prefer to do it myself because I hate to hide the coins and other valuables before going to a detail shop.

Yeah, but bird crap is a problem. I always put a wet rag on top of it for about a 1/2 hr to soften it up...chemical washes are great when it just dirt and dust.Depends on the system.
