Probably a dumb question but here goes................is there anything other than Powerpoint that can open a .ppt file ?

hi Riddler, never really used powerpoint much so i dont know too much about its file types but this might help you

Thanks guys. The powerpoint viewer sounds like a great utility. Now if I could find one that XP will run.
I did find a few candidates from webattack though. I'll give it a shot.

not sure if this might even be the same file, it does sound the same
but it say's xp at the top of the page

not sure how much use this might be, but according to the schpiel you can convert the files to view as .jpg's, .pdf's and .txt's
