I would not recommend connecting to Edonkey in Shareaza. It is a lot harder to configure because it is one of those all-in-one programs which makes it not as feature rich focusing on one specific network. Get Emule, there is a download like from www.sharereactor.com (one of Edonkey's largest verifieds sites)


As for about the news article:

I think Edonkey is only good for large files because there are long queue lines and it would take hours on a broadband connection to download one 4MB song. Other then that, I think Edonkey is excellent for large files.

Mmm, you notice it pretty fast on emule/donkey, there are a shite load of files which have german/french subs and are not labeled as such. I have completely skipped on it, along with a lot of swedes for that matter who mostly seem to go the dc++ way. Personally I am almost only on BT at the mo, dc++ have had a bit of a slack since the main hub I was on on had problems with their isp and has been down for a while. As soon as that's fixed I'll be there once again.

But something I noticed when I looked around during the spring was something along that this company has come up with as well. eMule seems to be going very strong in middle europe, kazaa lite over in the west over the puddle ^_^ up here in the cold north of europe dc++ is very dominant. BT was all over then, but has become much bigger, which isn't much of a surprise.

One thing I am looking forward to in dc++ is tiger-tree hashes and multi-source download. I suppose it's quite a bit before we see that, but it has been talk about it for quite a while in the developers forum for dc++ (some dc++ clone already has multi-source and I think some also has hash support (I suppose it only uses file-name + length tho) Have to go over there and read up on what's happening I guess =)
