You should get a codec pack installed and then use any player of your choice which supports FFDShow.
Back after going through many ordeals of paying for my internet.
Like all the above said use vlc player... Btw vlc is enough for windows 7 users no need for any codec packs it will play anything no problem what so ever

Btw, latest WMP is somehow better than VLC cause it can interact with GPU and reduce CPU load, but that doesn't matter since you're on Mac.
