Yes there are actually scripts that do that
With some simple scripting knowledge you can write one to detect cheaters:
- Look for users with > 10 GB upload a day
- From those users check who's seeding + not connectible
- Or check the leechers down speed for the torrents that person is seeding
That how they do it (at least that's how I'd do it)

and for account trading, they can run a daily script with the following algorithm
- Check for accounts changed passowrd.
- From those, check ones with changed IP ranges at the same time the password change.
- From those, check ones with email changed at the same time.

Now it's not so hard to pin-point the traders, I mean it's so simple 20-line PHP script that uses 4-5 MySQL queries.

Just because someone knows about security does not mean that he/she is a trader. Could be a coder/admin/hobbyist.

Anyway, the info makes sense. A site the size of TL would have to implement securities like this.

The bottom line...it is not a good idea to give away accounts. Go through the proper invite system/make requests in this forum.

Seedboxers and those with high-speed connections can easily make 10GB a day. And being unconnectable doesn't make seeding impossible. Not that I'm encouraging cheating, but TL has no scripts whatsoever against it other than the staff looking at the Top 10 to see who just registered and has "uploaded" thousands of GBs.

Most of things which wouldn't be possible at most sites, are possible at TL, just due to the huge userbase they have.
Doesn't mean you are free of getting caught, but it can happen.

That's right, but how about you just download 500MB of the torrent that has 2 leechers and you upload 800MB while the torrent is 700MB and they both where around 80% by the time you started the torrent!, if I were to write a script, I'd surely look for that and mark it as "interesting"
