What cd is another tracker which appeared after oink raided. And as you can quess, It's music tracker. What.cd has got bigger and bigger really fast and the content there is good. There's a active request section too. The tracker is sometimes really slow and that's really annoying. What cd has good forums and the community there is quite good. Okay i have to admit that the staff there isn't so friendly so beware!!! They have invitesystem, but it's closed because site is full. Everybody are able to upload there so that's the spirit. And the site has different styles too They have a tribute style for oink.

    # of torrents: 1166097 (wow)
    # of members: 148555 (150000 max)
    # of seeders: 7543894 (bigger wow)
    # of leechers: 130510

pretime: n/a (previous of 9 is just wrong)
speed: 8 (allows user uploads, great retention, many boxes, probably faster than waffles)
content: 10 (an awful, awful lot of stuffs)
    overall: 10 (definitive music tracker)

Invites: A lot available. Think backdoor access on some other sites via staff invite threads still exists. Also I think still has interview thing with test, that I would fail.

Free leech: Has had sitewide, staff picks are free and so are a few others.

Ratio: hard. No site with partial seeders is ever easy. Dont think you are disabled for ratio fail any more?

Notes: Difficulty, if you are hardcore torrenter probably medium. You can argue the toss between what and waffles for the definitive music tracker title (it is What) but both are pretty damn good. Since this is the What thread it is of course What When I think of What I start moving into ZOMG! territory as it is an epic tracker of epicness.

Hint: uploading your stuff is the best hint. Second best, bide your time then seedbox during extended freeleech.

I set it to 5 as per KFlint's post on another thread, since I'm unsure. Scene V2 rips are only a small fraction of what the site offers anyway, its strength are user uploads.

Yup. Many trackers offer unlimited What.cd invites on their forums.

Dont think you are disabled for ratio fail any more?
They only remove your leeching privileges if your ratio dips below the permissible figure and you fail to improve it in the given timeframe.

I'd say pretimes would be 10, because whatcd generates a ton of leaks and is first to get albums in many formats. But then again would that be stretching the meaning of 'pretime' ?

I would not put 5 over N/A because it's not a scene tracker so rating it on scene content is meaningless.

For a niche tracker, that's more or less how you'd calculate the rating - how often is it first among its peers?

I have little idea of What.cd's current status. If you say it beats other music trackers when it comes to leaks and offering things first, then its "pretime" should probably be beefed up.

smcewa11 said 9 was "just wrong", so I thought it actually deserved a lower ranking in that regard.

The problem with that is that scene oriented MP3 trackers spank What/Waffles every time (except for leaks and user rips in all formats ). Someone downloads from another site and reups to What/Waffles mins to days later.

If really pushed I would rate What and Waffles either 2 or 3 in pre's but it is just bizarre to me thinking of non-scene trackers with pre's.

The thing is Whatcd isn't meant to upload scene content fast, so scene tracker speeds should not be relevant in making up a rating number. It is the norm for whatcd to get user ripped albums before the scene pre's their releases.

Using "Pre-time" as a category is so misleading because these warez never 'pre' because they are not scene. So obviously whatcd cannot get anything less than a 10, because it is the origin (aka 0second 'perfect' pretimes) for all its original content. I personally would suggest N/A or better yet 'blank' for any non-scene trackers, because pretimes are a nonissue and just distract from the categories that actually matter.

It's a bit tough. I do agree on that What's forte isn't Scene material, so its "pretime" rating shouldn't be judged at the same level as 0-Day trackers when they're releasing a ton of stuff that directly won't appear in the latter.
