My favorite music source by far, here's a glance through Kraytracker, and also an example of how a good review can be made (Should ideally consist of personal opinion's, the more unbiased the better, not solely a paste job of screenshots):

    First off, the homepage:

The browse page lets you filter by genres. Most of the uploads fall under the 'Punk' and 'Hardcore' categories, and if you like those genres, chances are you will find many a gem in here. Kray's awesome uploaders are always keeping us up to date with the latest releases, as well as providing local and indie gems from their well developed musical tastes. There are classics from all genres. Genres that are lacking are the 'Dub', 'Techno', Swing, and 'Experimental' genres, so you might not want to bother with the tracker if those are your main interests.

As you might have noticed from the first screen, almost half of my upload is in the form of 'bonus' upload. This tracker's bonus system is similar to Karagarga's, and it rewards uploading data more than capping upload and seeding a ton of torrents, which is great. It also lets everyone snatch freely, without having to worry about ratio as much as the big 2 music trackers.

The tracker's stats, for the geeks:

A sampling of the tracker rules:

User Ranks There are currently 13 user ranks at Kraytracker. Asking for a rank will likely delay, or prevent promotion unless it's based on a set criteria. The more you give the more you get. No rank is a lifetime appointment, and may be revoked as quickly as it was granted. Staff positions are chosen by staff so don't bother asking, we'll call you. The ranks are as follows:

    • Disabled / Temp Banned- Banned or temp banned. You will be unable to use the site while in this rank. Temp bans are in gray and permabans are in black. Please do not ask staff why a user is in either rank. They obviously earned it, and it's unlikely you'll get an answer.
    • Leecher - This rank is determined by staff and is given for low ratios primarily.
    • Rookie - The default rank on Kray, where every user starts.
    • User - The default rank on Kray once a user has spent some time here, hence, becoming a user.
    • Power User - A member that has a ratio of 1.05, more than 25 GB uploaded, AND has uploaded at least 5 torrents to the site. Will be dropped back down to Rookie if ratio ever goes below .90.
    • VIP - This rank is reserved for those who've made an impact on the site and are active in the areas of uploading, downloading, torrent commenting and forum posting. Do not simply ask for this rank - fulfill the requirements and you'll be blue before you know it. Users in the VIP class can set a custom rank title.
    • VIP++ - This rank is the next step up from VIP. They've gone farther to contribute to the site through uploading, downloading, torrent commenting, forum posting, and donating. As with VIP, do not ask for this rank. This is a rank given purely at staff's discretion.
    • Uploader - This rank is for users that have gone above and beyond in directly contributing to the site by seeding torrents, investing in seedboxes, uploading torrents, and donating to the server fund. A detailed description of the criteria for this rank will be unveiled soon, but for the time being an uploader meets the requirement of having either a minimum of 500gb in uploads, or 100 or more active torrents and 350 or more total torrents uploaded.
    • Moderator - Moderators deal primarily with the approving of torrents and issuing warnings. If you need help with torrent-related issues, these are the people whom you'll want to seek out.
    • Administrator - Administrators deal with torrents and warnings like a moderator, but also with users' behavior. Administrators are able to ban (and unban) users. Approach Administrators if you have an issue that a Moderator cannot address.
    • Krew - Krew may not be as active with the daily goings-on of the site, such as approvals and infractions. Their main focus is the site as a whole. They can be approached with issues, but try to settle them with a Mod or Admin first.
    • Developers - Developer are involved with site development, and other projects. Do not approach with day-to-day issues, instead ask a Mod, Admin or Krew.

Staff voluntarily donate their time and energy to KrayTracker. Treat them with the respect that they deserve. Don't and you will be less than welcome here. Do not argue with staff decisions- they are final and have been collectively determined by the staff using their discretion and the site rules. Ratio Rules Ratio Watch is a system that views how much you have downloaded and compares it to how much you have uploaded to the site. The ratio you must maintain varies depending on how much you've downloaded.

    Here are the specs:
    1. If you have less than 2GB downloaded or registered within 7 days you don't have to maintain a specific ratio.
    2. If you have over 2GB downloaded you are required to have a ratio above .25.
    3. If you have over 6GB downloaded you are required to have a ratio above .30.
    4. If you have over 12GB downloaded you are required to have a ratio above .35.
    5. If you have over 24GB downloaded you are required to have a ratio above .40
    6. If you have over 48GB downloaded you are required to have a ratio above .45.
    7. If you have over 72GB downloaded you are required to have a ratio above .50.

After your warning you have 12 days to improve you ratio or you will be banned. These limits cannot be altered by staff and are set in stone.

Maintaining these minimum ratios is not difficult and staff expects you to at least meet them if not exceed them. Ratio requirements are NOT rank-dependent, meaning everyone must adhere to these rules.

Meeting these requirements does not mean you can hit 'n run torrents and not give back to the community; these ratios are simply the lowest you can be without being banned by the system. Warnings can and will still be issued for not following the other site rules.

    Hit 'n Runs
A hit 'n run is defined as not seeding a torrent for the acceptable amount of time/ratio. Kraytracker's policy is that when you download a torrent, you must either seed that torrent for 48 hours or seed the torrent until it has an upload/download ratio of at least 1.000, whichever comes first. Excessive hit 'n runs will not be tolerated and you will be warned for flaunting the hit 'n run rule. Hit 'n runs are especially unacceptable during free leech periods.

The only one you're gonna click on much is probably bookmarks. Alot of the rest could probably be removed, but I guess there has to be a link to them somewhere.. Alot of trackers have a bar of icons for 'arcade' 'blackjack' and all that jazz, at least these have simplified icons and are not .jpegs that are shrunk too small to comprehend..

In what sense? I'm not a member, but the site seems to be working.

A lot less people are using the site than before and uploaded content is worse every day. I should've said ''is dying''.

Kray just got the new Against Me! single in 192 before What.cd, and then it got the v0 and it is still not on whatcd yet. I think this site is very relevant if you are into the genres it has. This site is the initial source of countless punk records for the bittorrent scene, and it has significant unique content as well because the stuff is just too niche to survive/exist elsewhere.
