Welcome to UK-T!
To all of those wondering what happened to the old site. Let me explain:
Firstly, let me tell you something about myself and how i was involved in the old site. I was one of the coders that used the alias bonesxtr. There was a few of us using that generic account, which had certain triggers setup in the database. This made that particular account unique and used by all coders of UK-T.
I had been coding for UK-T for quite some time. Some of you may have spoken to me using the bonesxtr account. Some may have spoken to the others. It was never setup to mislead people, but only an account where we could analyse the problems and come up with the solutions.
I was also the owner of the domain which i donated a while back. However i still had ownership. This is why i believe i was targeted back in November. Along with my parents house and another member who run the chat server.
As far as i know, no others were involved in the raids at around half 7 on the 24th of September.
The so called news reporters over at TorrentFreak were fed a load of shit by some misinformed people. They lapped it up of course as would any other journalist. We were not involved in selling pirated material nor would i ever condone it.
The database wasn't deleted as suggested by TorrentFreak. The staff thought it best the site was shut down. The site lay dormant for quite some time.
After payments weren't received from site donations, the host Leaseweb must have removed the site. As far as i know trading standards weren't interested in the server and only myself and another individual. From what i understand the site was encrypted at the hardware level which was standard with the particular O/S install that was used.
It seems trading standards were fed a load of crap and misinformed by an outside source (perhaps FACT?) However this is just speculation. I don't want to sound like TorrentFreak and make this shit up.
The investigation into myself and the involvement into the site is still on going. I was originally told they would fast track a laptop that they seized which belonged to a friend. They said it would be no longer than a month. It's going on 5-6 months now and i have yet to be interviewed or receive the equipment back. Seems it may be a while.
I hope you can understand why i've left it for so long before doing anything with the domain. I believed this misunderstanding would have blown over and i could have had some forums up well before now. I used UK-T for chatting with friends and i believe once more this can become a nice community.
I know a few other forums have evolved from uk-t and they have become a closed community. I don't want those that don't have access to miss out. So this site will remain public for the time being.
Thanks!
Steve
Edit: Someone pointed it out it was actually the 24th, and the warrant i had ended on the 28th. Which by the way meant they had the warrant for nearly a month and it seems they just had to use it before they lost it.
