    Hey guys I'm thinking of getting the Flip Video UltraHD Camcorder for the wife for Xmas. Does anyone have it or another simple pocket camcorder they could recommend at all? I'm trying to save "research" time on this one so anything helpful will be appreciated. Thanks gang

    UPon more research it would seem this one is a better buy

    Second camera was way better, the flip hd is only 720p where as the kodak is 1080p.....

    That in its self is enough of a reason to buy the kodak. Flip is just overpriced trash that only sells because it almost a fad.
    Although it is pretty convenient to use.....

    *note* I take that back just did some research and the new hd flip isn't that bad. But the kodak your looking at is still better.
    Although it still is a fad to own a flip lol.

    I agree it's just the popular one ATM. I like that the Kodak is upgradeable whereas the flip you are stuck with the internal memory.

    ummmm not really relevant, but speaking of this thread I did get the Kodak zi8 and the thing is really pretty amazing. The video looks great and it's easy as pie to use the software that comes with it already preloaded on the camera. I am impressed by the thing. Good buy!
