if you have a mod-chipped Xbox, you can install Media Player/Media Center on it and use it to play PC media formats like Mpeg-4, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, Quicktime, Realmedia, etc. basically allows you to use Xbox as a cheap alternative to a full-blown PC, for playback of digital media.
