whats the diferance between this 2?
security, support for larger partitions, and more efficient structure are some...but others have written much about it
already. Use Google next time
some info
Well. The main thing is that in order to use any of the fancy stuff on XP or W2000..you have to go with ntfs. By fancy stuff I mean..compression, encryption, dynamic disks and some or all of the security permissions etc.
Also, ntfs stores another copy of the master boot record (mbr) besides the one at the first sector....to be honest, im not sure how to explain it, but it makes ntfs a little safer, lol. (In other words I dont know if ntfs heals itself if the first mbr gets corrupted or if we have to do it thru commands etc)
Finf more info here http://www.ntfs.com/ntfs_vs_fat.htm
i personally find fat32 to get more errors... but it seems better since nfts takes up alot more space... it allocates space up for system files... i don't get that...
nfts can see a fat32 drive but a fat32 drive cant see a nfts drive... that's just how it is

no - fat32 on winxp fer home -
but fat32 was first released with 95b so if you should still use fat32 you still use 95b........... or if you would like to use a new OS you should also use a new file system surely......
new file system? NTFS? NTFS was introduced w/windows NT - hence the name - Windows New Technology, New Technology File System.Originally posted by exeus@18 October 2003 - 03:50
