In addition, are the users all located in one particular continent? Otherwise, i can't imagine how you guys get the other content for the Asian or kids category or something like that.

I love the design. One of the most unique websites in that aspect.
I eventually joined, it's just general music.

Eh. I'm hesitant in downloading unknown artists unless I've heard a couple of their songs. But even then, finding their songs online is doubtful because of band's relatively new beginning.

Thus, I tend to avoid downloading excess files, unless my seed ratio on private trackers really need a boost.

You'll never discover new music like that... I download stuff I've never heard of all the time, usually based on friend recommendations.

There are also sites like last.fm that are great for both similar artist recommendations and for track previews. Those using the large music trackers (I think it works on at least What/Waffles/STMusic/Libble, I forget) can look for the "OiNKPlus" greasemonkey script that'll stick lots of neat stuff into the torrent description pages, including a last.fm and myspace preview player so you can listen to whole or partial tracks before grabbing an album.

    It can be found here:

    That's pretty legit.

Usually, I'm interested in Indie music, since they have the potential of creating some great music, contrary to those lame rap songs like "Crank 'dat Soulja Boy" or "Lollipop" by wayne. I can't believe that those two songs were actually hit singles...

Regardless... Indie artists seem to have really good music, but I can't seem to find them anywhere, especially on torrent sites (At least on Demonoid).

Are there any trackers that have a huge torrent library of music? themusicplay.net is great for hip hop, but it'd be nice to have some site for Indie music or better yet a "mega" tracker with >9000 GB of music torrents. XD

What is the largest private music tracker.

There's also IndieTorrents, though most people who listen to "indie" are referring to "indie rock" which is generally semi-popular music ranging from bands like Animal Collective to Bloc Party to Radiohead (basically anything that has rock elements and isn't Top 40).

However if you like indie music as in real small name bands, you might like IndieTorrents. You aren't allowed to upload any torrent with a connection to a major label, it's all MP3 (the idea being if you want FLAC, support the artist), and they have quite a diverse collection. Their "Indie" means independent, and ranges from rock to electronic to noise to doom metal, and they also have a fairly active forum.

Basically, you'll be exposed to artists that you've never heard of before and won't see on the front page anywhere else. It's a place where you check the browse page and download stuff from genres you enjoy, rather than search for random releases.

I personally use pandora radio to find new music sometimes, and other times random recommendations or top downloads.

Last.fm has a nice similar artist list displayed when you search for an artist, which is sort of like what.cd's system.

I just hope that oink supports that tracker, IndieTorrents

Most Indie songs I've heard are great, but I haven't heard that many.

Seems like an interesting move. Many music trackers that are/go ratio-free haven't really lasted long, besides CE and maybe some other tracker(s) I don't remember. I guess we shall see how things go for them.

Off-topic: Why do you continuously post updates about the tracker if you're just a "friend" of the owner and not in the staff? Why can't they register here and post stuff themselves?

Ratio free is a good choice for a music tracker to me. For the music I download no one else ever downloads it and the torrent will often die within a month. If it is ratio free more mainstream music may not be as easy to download, but the music I download is downloaded more and therefore has longer retention.
