Help With Photo

Sorry, I wasn't sure where to post this, so I thought I'd just play it safe and post my question here

I have to make this poster for one of our club activities, one of the pics I would like to use is this one:





Now, the problem is, it has a white background, and my background is red, so it's a bit stupid to have this little white square...Does someone know how to edit this so i ONLY keep the sheep and the white inside the sheep but lose the rest of the square?

(I hope this makes sense, it's a bit hard to explain )

Just make the background a different colour, then set that colour to transparent.
