Is fsc down or having other problems? I logged into fsc yesterday and today I cant log on to the site. And the site was very slow yesterday.

IF you are getting the "403 Forbidden Unauthorized IP address" error You Most likely have a "transparent proxy" set on your connection by your ISP

You may ask yourself "OK .. Then why did it work before HUH?"

well the answer lies in the way Retail modems, routers and ISP's servers cache pages to save bandwidth ...... this is somthing bitsoups techs cannot solve by our selfs because we are only in control of our end

You tell your browser you want new content from a bitsoup page and it looks to the page that it has cashed rather than bitsoups for the basic layout etc. to save time (everyone likes fast pages) and then looks for more info from the bitsoup website but because the basic page data dont match our server says no way


it would be a security risk to allow pages that were not origonating from bitsoups server to be used for displaying bitsoup information .....known as XSS



Perform step A or B or C depending on what type of Computer you have

A) if you have a windows computer click START > RUN > and type in :

ipconfig /flushdns

and you should see a little black box appear and then dissapear.

B) if you have a Unix computer running MAC OSX Open the Terminal program, which you'll find in the Applications_Utilities folder.... then type this into the terminal :

bash-2.05a$ lookupd -flushcache

you should get a line in the terminal that state's you have successfully flushed the cashe.

if you have a linux computer then we like you much more than before and you should know how to flush your own dns .... but if not its easyer than the above steps

In Linux, the nscd daemon manages the DNS cache so we have to stop the daemon from running and restart it

to do so fire up a commandline and enter the following :

`/etc/rc.d/init.d/nscd restart`

you will see a message that the nscd daemon has been reset.

after that is done please power down your modem wait 30 secconds and then power down your router

then turn your computer off

turn the modem and router power back on and wait for 5 mins.

then start the computer back up.
