    I'd go with Creative gigaWorks!

i would say max 150$ no more unless its worth it.I do like these but is there anything that would sound better than Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II 2.0 Multimedia Speaker System with BasXPort Technolgy or my second choice that looks good is Boston Acoustics Horizon MM226

    Next question 2.0 ,2.1 or .5.1?

    2.0 http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_u...phileAV40.html

    2.1 http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/sp...s/231&cl=ca,en

Don't really recommend 5.1 for computers.

I would recommend the Logitech X-540, I got their speakers for around £70 In the UK.
But whether It's the UK or the US, you get great sound, great quality and for the price you can't beat It

If you want them "mainly for music" as you say, these will do you super-fine, and fit the budget as well.
