That's a bit too drastic. uTorrent 2.0 just has a few bugs on its uTP implementation that are on the process of getting fixed already.
Firon and his dev team has its own agenda and its not helping the Private BT community as you in Spoofing clients for 2.1, you are going to get a lot of peeps banned from sites

It's not spoofing, it's called emulation.

In my opinion, utorrent 1.8.5 is the best

If it did I wouldn't have a single tracker account left.

There have been a lot of changes between the versions (check the changelogs for details). Some of the changes were related to security issues found in the client that should not affect users of private trackers, if I recall correctly.

Also, I've spoken to some knowledgeable people who claim uT 1.8.5.0 sometimes reports stats incorrectly.
that's the answer i was looking for. thanks.
whenever people agree with me, i always feel i must be wrong.

Is BCG the only tracker (minus obscure ones) that doesn't allow this version? Almost all my non-music torrents are from that site, so I will not be able to upgrade until they allow it.

Guess I'm glad I held off. Hopefully all the quirks will be sorted soon, because from what I've seen the new interface is a bit better, and I'd never be bothered to mod utorrent otherwise. Better to stick with something that ain't broke..

BCG is a bit slow allowing newer clients in general. I guess they want to throughoutly check new versions for incorrect behavior before allowing them.
