I can see how having a default browser would hinder other browser companies.. but how does Microsoft make money with IE? Do you need a business license for it if you use it in the workplace? Or do they have paid support?

Thats a great news. I think the Microsoft should buy the Firefox and let them to design browsers for the windows OS. I hope there will be a update for the current users so maybe firefox can run at the start up just like ie which whould make the firefox run faster at the first run.
That would be the day firefox dies...
Personally I think this is all stupid. Like Darkmawl was saying, a mercedes dealer doesn't offer a choice between mercedes, bmw or audi floor mats, they just offer mercedes, why should microsoft be forced to offer browsers other then its' own? It's just nonsense.
Not that I'm standing up for the IE browser. It's crap and everyone knows it. That doesn't mean microsoft shouldn't be allowed to include it though.
Not a big deal for us users who know our way around.

I think it is good to give people a choice. If they want people to use IE they will have to step it up now.
finally , it's like they admit that IE8 isn't perfect and full of garbage...
