Windows movie maker has been doing that every since the first one came out and movie maker 2 does the same thing. It has nothing to do with ram or anything else on a pc because I have more than enough ram on all my pc's (a gig or more, three gigs on my mj-12) It just crashes when it wants to and microsoft has yet to put a patch out to fix it.
Windows media movie and video files suck anyway. Dont encode in that crappy format. Use something else.
