There's no reason not to update Office 2002 (XP), there are two service packs available. You will need to run an administrative update for SP1, using the administrative service pack, as you will receive an error message if trying to use the normal installer:-
Product: Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage -- Error 1328. Error applying patch to file c:\Config.Msi\PT190.tmp. It has probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information contact your patch vendor. System Error: -1072807676
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
This page describes how to make an administrative update to Office XP SP1. (You'll need to save it to disk)
http://notorious.dezines.com/notorio...cles/xpsp1.htm
SP2 should install no problems using the normal installer.
If not there's a similar article for SP2 here:-

I have Office XP Proffesional with Frontpage 'by Ear biscuits', commonly found on Fast Track, and have installed both service packs as above, and visited Office update for further updates with no problems.

OKaaaay . So i guess you were just making conversation when you started this thread .
Do you use Outlook BTW? This is part of Office and should really be updated for security reasons , or even better use Eudora instead.
