I guess that totally depends on which forum you mean.
Here surprisingly little gets straight out requested anymore.Probably TL or What/Waffles although people have finally gotten the idea that What doesn't take kindly to breaking their rules concerning giving invites to strangers.
Other than those maybe BCG , BitMe/Bitspyder ( because there are a lot of students) or other well known 0days like IPT or RevTT.
Seriously ones like FTN might be the most "sought after" but they aren't remotely the most requested except by traders.
Also depressingly of note, next to no one asks for specialty movie sites anymore..... except for CN or maybe PTN but there again it's more about the assumed l33tness than any special content.

Not true at all. Everywhere I go I see people asking for trackers that index Indie movies, or short movies (10-18 minute movies). They're not being requested directly because people simply don't know about them; people just ask for what they want and not where they want it from.
When KG/CN/THC are suggested people are usually more than pleased with what they find.
I was only referring to this particular site as I don't frequent anywhere else.
In my own personal( and limited) experience KG gets lip service because a lot of people have heard of it being "the best place for classic movies" but very few people who become members actually ever end up using the site. It being more about foreign and arthouse films than specifically what people think of as "classic"
As for CN from what I hear it less than dazzles except in "rarity" .
TehConnection is a good site as is goem but I can count on the fingers of one hand anyone asking for them in the last 6 months.
Btw maybe I'm the exception but what I would do before requesting anything is a little research into what is available so that I hopefully come off as having a bit of initiative .
I also stand behind my assertion that hardly anyone asks for anything here anymore. If on the other hand you asked me to list what is the most coveted by the traders I would have no problem doing that because that particular section hasn't seen any appreciable drop-off.And that's only the ones I see posted because if the Report section is any indication a considerable percentage of people here trade and somehow forget to make the fact publicly known .![]()

I don't frequent that many places, either. I was actually talking about people asking on private trackers themselves for recommendations. KG/Extremebits usually fulfill most of the queries.
When I said CN, I meant Cinematik; but you're kinda wrong about the one you know about (well what you heard is off). Based on my experience, they have a great index of everything I ever looked for (minus one movie in 1080p, but they had it in 720p), with great alternative quality features etc. To be honest, people see it as a collectible only because they saw it as such from the start.
I was a member at both TC and Goem and with the exception of Goem's thriving community, I mostly felt I would be sitting on an account with 0 bandwidth at both, since they had no real special content, well nothing comparable to KG/CN.
That's partially because the BT world is maturing as a whole; not a problem with this place in particular. I'm finding that the protocol/the community are all just developing and people are finding out that the way into private trackers isn't to flatter or stroke the most people, but to stop building those buffers and work to enjoy what you have. A year ago you'd only see the people at the top of the "torrent foodchain" mentioning things like being a reputable member instead of a staple bandwidth whore, nowadays most trackers make it clear that that is what they're looking for.
Change happens; change is welcome, people adapt.![]()
Like I said I have no personal knowledge of CN and have only others experiences on which to base my opinion ,which granted is probably not the wisest thing to do.
As for Goem I've been able to find things there I couldn't anywhere else , even Zamunda .Granted it's not always the fastest but I personally ( my perception at least) appreciate it's unassuming nature .
I gave up/lost my account at PTP when one of the staffers insisted I couldn't use my server to browseat the time I was basically doing everything bt related through my seedbox so I thought wtf?
Btw I am sadly forced to disagree about the bt world maturing ( and I am hardly alone in this view) .Maybe I don't share the same exalted strata as you and so see things considerably diferently but imo if anything there is a steady and disturbing regression.
PS I'm not really sure what you were getting at ,is being a reputable member somehow inferior to being a "bandwidth whore"?
Although I've seen evidence of that at places like SCC I prefer ( again personally) if the reverse were true.

Can you please elaborate as to how you arrived on this conclusion .. I was under the inmpression that the avg member age at the trackers was on a decline .. Which you can clearly make out from number of people who consider Tracker accounts as trophies rather than as means of getting pirated stuff .. Any stats to prove otherwise would be highly supportive of your statement.
The avg member ages doesn't 100% dictate the BT world Maturing as a whole. There are many other factors that play into it.Can you please elaborate as to how you arrived on this conclusion .. Also by maturing I think he intended to say that it is changing.

The discussion is being very interesting indeed, but I'm slightly amused that FST doesn't show up on the list of the places where people could get invited to a tracker.
Oddly enough, that same blog shows up here, and is trying to promote itself on a clever way.
Oh well...
