not too sure if i wanna shoot the messenger....
some of my family uses outlook for e-mail, and messenger comes up whenever outlook opens (so they're tied together? ?)
just encase anyone wants the info for that foreseeable problem

This will prevent a long delay when opening Outlook Express if you have the Contacts pane enabled. To prevent this, click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Right click in the right pane and select New, Dword value. Give it the name Hide Messenger

Double click this new entry and set the value to 2.

yo that was very nice tip indeed and i was right that we could delete that nikita69 u have made an error, i thought u was error killer

again nice tip muchspl2, how did u know about, did u get it of some website, are there more tricks like that etc.[/b][/quote]
I was simply replying to that post, didn't know ur intent of the topic was "How to". As for what I said, IT WILL COME BACK IN SOME COMPUTERS, DEPENDING ON SOME SETTINGS.

One of which is Outlook Express, another is NAV.

the tip given by muschspl2 is one portion and will cause a long delay when opening OExp if you have contacts pane enabled, the other portion to complete it is:
• open regedit and goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express
• right click in the right pane and select New, Dword value
• name it "Hide Messenger", without the dqoute, double click this new entry and set the value to 2
now if u have NAV, then u need to disable "windows instant messenger" in setting

like muschspl2 said "this is one tip", there are many available and if one didn't work for u, then there is always another.
