Thread: Full TV Show Season

  1. #1
    Hello community,

What is the best/most efficient way to get full TV seasons of older shows besides waiting and hoping something gets posted.

For example, if I wanted Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 1 or 2 or something, where would I find that data on Usenet?

I'm using this site, NZBMatrix and Merlins-portal for that. There's also full seasons on TVNZB.com but not so many.

http://www.tvnzb.com/index.php and search for buffy and you get season 2.

Searching them up @ nzbindex.nl etc. is also another way of doing it, but there are sometimes a bunch of foreign crap together with the good stuff

Edit: Most of the seasons is available @ merlins portal. they're around 400-500 days but if you got astra or GN that won't be a problem.

Generally: "efnet" + "series name" + "season number" will get the results you need. It helps if the indexer supports either loose matching or wildcards for the season number, because it is often in the form S01E12 etc.

It's way better to check before you do that. It's a last resort imo.

What about P2P sites for television and movies - aren't there any good ones out there?

Generally (and unfortunately)most TV shows out on DVD (and lets talk standard def on this), whether on usenet or P2P, have the life crushed out of them by extreme over re-compression.

Like, a DVD9 with 4 to 8 episodes, crushed down to a DVD5. In other words, literally half the bit-space as the original.

This, when it's super-easy to 'split' the DVD9 to two cheap (<25 cent) DVD5's, and retaining the full bit-space.

There are occasional postings of full DVD9's (and there are a few original DVD5's of shows out there, but very old), but the majority are either super-squeezed or even XVid or worse stuff.

Of course, it all depends on what you want, or can tolerate.

Here you have quite a few: https://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/what-trackers-offer/

Use the sorting and put only tv & movies.
