I've used all of those for business purposes, and I have no *clear* favorite. Seems like most businesses are happiest with 2000 Pro. It's simplistic compared to Xp Pro and easy to configure for most uses. Yeah, I guess i'd go with 2000 Pro is I had a larger business.

    depends

    what your business is
    how many workstations
    servers
what os the software you need is designed for

but i find 2000 is good for workstations and a linux distro is good for a server if the system admin has experience or win 2000 server will be fine.

Usually big compagnies use macintosh hardware & software. Those are expensive like hell, but have the reputation to have a good customer service, which is very important as some compagnies can't allow themselves to wait for repair.

ide say windows xp would be the best for a buisiness, simply because i think winxp is the most user friendly of all the windown os's.

    I'd say Windows 2000 Professional/Windows XP Professional.
Or maybe Windows Server .NET 2003 would do the job?

Windows 2000 Pro. A lot still use NT, as it is really stable. Only use macs if you are doing intensive graphics. (video editing etc).
