    There is a 30 day activation on the CD. I don't think it would work if he didn't activate it however I don't know exactly what happens. Your best bet is to head over to BitTorrent and go find a copy of XP to download assuming you have broadband, or have your friend find someone to do it for him.

    As far as activation goes here is all you need.

    ..... Click on the step3activate.reg file. This reactivates Windows. .....

    I never activated mine, its xp pro but not sure if its Corp, at the beginning it ask if I want to activate or it gives a option to skip, I always skiped it

    I know all that but I just wanted to hear what Cygnuz-Y had to say.

    It's also possible to convert a "Pro" version to be a "Corp" edition.

    I have my XP from 3 months now and it havent said nothing about activation..

    BTW my CD key is not paid....

    Was your CD from an "original paid for" Windows XP Pro CD? I think not.

    Well, actually, i wasn&#39;t writing to you. My post was, believe it or not, for the benefit of the thread starter. As no-one else, including yourself, had posted a solution, i thought i might.

    Well, adamp2p asked me to give you your book back. He says he&#39;s given up with the whole thing and doesn&#39;t see what the big fuss is about anyway.
