Depends what you use most. If you burn everything at home, i think is unnecessary to buy an external drive. And then of course, depends on the specifications of each driver
plus,you can always buy a usb or esata enclosure
I think the external will be much more expensive..
what is the price you got for each?
I made the mistake of jumping into dvd burning (external or internal) when the burn and play speeds were very low. I spent over $200 on an external dvd burner (Sony sucks) that will to this day only burn at 2x speed. I think a wise person would be one who waits until blueray hits the 8x burn speed before you throw your hat in the ring. As a matter of fact I personally will wait for 16x myself.
I think built-in is better.
The price is good.
