if a gfx card is agp 8x compatible, what are the chances of it working on a agp 4x Mobo?
do they make GFX cards that are compatible with 2x 4x and 8x?

Correct to get any 2x,4x or 8x to work at the full speed the motherboard as to be compatible with it,in other words if your m/board isn't 8x but is 4x times the card will run at 4x.
And besides it isn't a dumb question thats who we learn by asking.
