A glottal stop is a speech sound articulated by a momentary, complete closing of the glottis in the back of the throat. Glottal stops occur in many languages and usually pattern as consonants.

I never thought you would actually do it. Audio Visual aids are always so much better
Can I suggest that everyone download these files. They are only ~30k and explain the concept better than a thesis of any length.
Eyes watering with laughter btw.
