I have over the past two days had three emails from different banks asking for email verification, now i'm not a customer of any of these banks and was curious so clicked on link ( i will use barclays as example) the link took me barclays home page with a popup box asking for email address, acc password, and verify secret question! i left it all blank and clicked verify and my norton av blocked and deleted a js.exploit virus, it was same with halifax bank email and nat west, i emailed halifax and they said there is a scam going round trying to get peoples details and this scammer is randomly sending out these emails in the hope that they may by chance email an actual bank customer and therefore get the details off them if they follow the link! crafty or what! they all say that under no circumstances would the bank ever email and ask these things. im in the uk so dunno if its happening elsewhere. beware people
