Great, a continuation of a thread where people neither think, nor read.

sending auto-generated friendly PM/announcement if donation isn't met like UK-T did is one thing. Whereas sending an announcement twice in a row with tone of "We have until 2 days before the end of each month to reach 100% before we start wiping the servers." is completely different.

and why is there no reserve? because paypal froze their account? i'm not doubting that...it happens all the time. but there are better ways to handle that then to limit donation to 100%

That's why I made this final line...

The tone was a bit odd/off, but I am still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. All of the negativity that forms in a thread like this cannot help a site owner get through tough times.

It is as if a certain portion of the community enjoys seeing sites fail. That's quite f'd up, if you ask me.

I agree with this, but it also appears they just can't win...

Last month they were commended for not taking advantage of the donation drive and stopping donations at 100% so they couldn't be accused of doing an ScT and grabbing a shit load of funds...

This month they're 'to blame' for not holding a reserve and having to ask for donations... I don't envy the position the site is in tbh... seems they can't do right for doing wrong

I would like to know how much their monthly costs are. Is that 33% shortage $300, or $1000?

Edit- And what is the breakdown of the costs? Other sites do this and it is very reassuring. Why does a 10 euro donation only change the percentage by 1%?

Transparency does bring about greater trust.

Serious question .If they don't meet costs and do shut down do I then automatically get my money back or do I have to file a claim ?
I don't mind donating to keep them on their feet even if I am passively subsidizing a bunch of ingrate other members who apparently can be bothered ( you play you pay) but I don't like the thought that the unused funds might be spent on some staffers new Playstation or something.
    Respect my lack of authority.

pretty much every tracker that has a decent donation drive has been accused of stealing money. If staff chooses to listen to them dismiss something as essential as reserve fund then idk what to say.

those who were bitching about it last month were mainly trolling and were minority.those who are bitching now are bigger in number and aren't trolling.
