This was written with someones heartbreak in mind

Down through the years, love's brought us tears
Through death and tragedy
With that in mind, I'll try and find
A word of sympathy.

Adam and Eve, the first to mind
The leaders of them all
Till an apple tempted them
It led to their downfall,

Then Hero and Leander
Their love was sealed by Fates
When the water swallowed him
In the Dardanellae straits.

There was Philemon and Baucis
They could not be separated
So they ended up as a pair of trees
As Zeus and Hermes stated.

Pyrams and Thisbe had to flee
Their love was not consented
Pyramus died by his own sword
Thisbe died demented.

Samson loved Delilah true
He was at her beck and call
She cut his hair till he was bare
It nearly was his downfall

Antony had his Cleo true
But off to war he went
Cleo's heart was broke in two
So an asp was heaven sent.

Romeo love Juliet
Their families were not so keen though
So they made a pact to end it all
It was so sad to see them go.

Robin had his merry men
He also had Maid Marian
The Sheriff tried to thwart it all
Because he was loves rapscallion.

Victoria had her Albert true
He died when they were younger
It so broke her heart to be apart
That she dressed in black forever.

More up to date Titanic came
The ending was a shocker
But the worst of all, along came Paul
To banish the love of Clocker

yeegads bigboab may i say,
your pen is quick this very day,
those tales thee tell of olden passion,
may never ever go out of fashion.

its true love is a living hell,
salute thee i do willingly,
but love is all that makes us free.

Although I try to make it rhyme
I cannot do it all the time
If you try to make me change my verse
I will come right in and kick your erse* ( *Scottish for arse)

the rules of poetry engaged,
have made SensualGardening somewhat enraged,
bigboab returned to make his plea,
and made a pitch which all agree,
t'was swift and blunt if truth was said,
but now farewell - tis time for bed.

Peace
