Hi shareholder, thank's for the link to this :-)
It's an improvement over v3, but they've yet again removed (unless you use the classic skin) the option of disabling the damned scrolling file name lol
Also, has anyone else got a BSOD when trying to play any video file's? I tried watching a XSVCD but each time I ended up with a BSOD and had to reboot :-( Well, it is Beta so is to be expected lol
The one thing that totally pissed me off about it is that there's a registration screen in there now, just goes to show that AOL's got it's filthy finger's into it now :-(
Sniper.
just use wmp or bsplayer to watch ur movies. winamp is 4 music

Thank you sharedholder.
I was about to rip you and say what the fuck, but then I got it and... wow... why's it not on Winamp.com yet?
And what's this about a Winamp Pro or Winamp Premium?
Amazing program...

you'll have to pay for the winamp pro version. the benefits of that are full speed CD ripping, full speed burning, and encoding mp3s.

If it isn't too much, I'll pay for Winamp out of principle, not because I'll ever use its ripper or CD burner. Though some mp3s aren't recognized by Nero *kicks Nero... oh wait I haven't installed it yet... oops* so that might be useful.
Anyway, Winamp is one of the first computer programs I used, back when it was Winamp 2.05, and that was in like 1998, and its problems have been very few and very far in between. Even though Nullsoft is now owned by AOL, heck, Nullsoft deserves it.
If it's not too much, I for one will be paying for it.

uhmm, what can i say -- new winamp looks good...
I am surprised, tho -- if there are real audiophiles here in this forum -- that nobody has even mentioned foobar. Foobar is the best player in terms of delivering quality and is the lightest on cpu usage, even older versions of wnamp cant beat it. Plus u got whole lotta cnfigurable stuff there for the titles ... and if u know u can tweak ur own cfg.

WMP9 has the best audio quality, IMO. The SRS effects sound awesome. It's hefty on the resources though.

Windows Media Player 9?
I saw they added a "Lossless WMA" encoding option but there's virtually no compression; a CD ripped to lossless WMA takes up about 450MB on the computer. Might as well rip to WAV.
As for effects, I don't fuck with them. I just set Winamp's EQ to "Laptop Speakers/Headphones" and it sounds great for me.
Winamp is cool because it's small, not very intrusive, does what it's supposed to do and little else, but can if you want.
