Thought Tony blair was in charge of the Conservatives?
Failing him it is Hobson's choice. Who is there left? Clarke is experienced but too pro-Europe for half the party and Redwood and co. are too anti-Europe for the other half. Portillo is a possible but probably got too many skeletons for the blue rinse brigade.
Boris Johnstone - he would make an interesting leader!! Put some eccentricity back into British politics.
Cogito cogito ergo cogito sum
apparently Michalle Heseltine was considering put himself forward for leadership, trouble he's too old and he's full of old party policy which the Brittish public want to foget.

But then again, with the way the Labour government has been acting, it's easy to see how someone can mistake them

I think that's what Biggles was implying
I don't much care who succeeds IDS, to be honest, just so long as it's not that greaseball Portaloo. He makes my skin crawl.

He's cheap though Liam. Fifty pence a time to get in.
The best way to keep a secret:- Tell everyone not to tell anyone.
How about taking a leaf out of arnie schwartseneggers book, and put anthony hopkins for leader of the conservatives, or,david blaine he can do magic
Man U fer eva
BTW this was the front page for today's copy of "The Mirror" (UK newspaper for non-brits ). Thought it was LMAO material myself
I think its between Ken Clarke and Michael Howard. I don't think they will seriously consider Michael Portillo, because he's been involved in scandals, managed to lose one of the safest conservative seats (my home borough) and because he's a complete gimp.
I saw a bit of Michael Howard announcing his candidacy and I was quite impressed, I think he's the one i'd put my money on.
