Thread: Ripping Protected Cds?

1. #1
I want to rip my whole CD collection to add to my MP3 player, but soem of the CDs have protection. Does any bright spark have the answer to answer to this and a program that would help me?

try holding the shift button down while inserting disc. andr.net was talking about this with a new copy protected cd in production, might work

The 2 top CD ripping programs are EAC - Exact Audio Copy and CDex.

Have you tried any one of these?

Folks,

DO NOT use anything else BUT EAC. Second choice CDex.

EAC has proven best perfomace in ripping !! Thats why all hight quality releases on eMule (APE, MPC) have been proceeded by a nice EAC rip to wavs !!!

I ended up using a program called Easy CD-DA Extractor. It has been quite good so far, the only discs I have had problems with are the ones that are scrached. All the old copy protected CDs have been coppied with no problems.
