If you send out invites without expecting anything in return, that's a giveaway. If you give out invites and want something in return, that's trading.
That makes TPS a trader's forum. Period.
Pretty much. The few good eggs that actually participate are far outweighed by the folks that are spamming their way to Captain so they can request FTN (for some reason none of the other "Limited Movement" trackers are ever requested, no idea why).
It's probably the most blatant example of the problem with the Invites for Rep concept.
I would go even beyond that.
It's what's behind the invites concept. It's where the drama starts.

Probably a pretty long time still, I've never been much of a forum poster. In recent years this is probably my second highest post count next to single tracker forum, and here it's mostly jokes so that's probably why
And I already have access to that forum (hence my descriptive post) so it'd be a moot point
Oh and for the record I already brought up the whole "giveaways for rep are just as bad as trading" topic in their forums and the result was being labeled a trader sympathizer and being berated by a group of comm reps that ironically ended up getting banned due to an IRC convo you allegedly participated in...
It's OK, I was just poking fun at your repeated and widespread HDB requests
PS: There was never anything "alleged" about that conversation. I think my participation in it was quite clear, and never in question as to whether it was me, or not. In any case, I think we've hijacked Stoi's thread quite enough. If you want to discuss that the polite thing to do would be to start a new thread, or pm me.
