    i also use rtorrent but i would give a shot to utorrent and check the ram and cpu usage

    No Right! It's a unix variation right! It's a heavily coded unix system, right!

    Linux is a different thing, It have the distros you dream of, right!

    And it's a 2 part system. First the basics of the operating system first created by Stallman and then the kernel created ( or stolen) by Linus.

    It's a community grown on that.

    Deluge, rtorrent, and (my personal pick) transmission will be the best in the Linux venue for a while, yet. I really have my doubts about utorrent for Linux, esp. since I suspect that it's largely requested by newbie Linux users who are using ub. as sort of a bourgeois replacement for Windows.
