This is my suggestion on how to stay safe:

1.Get a firewall program

Go to www.zonelabs.com and download ZoneAlarm Free version
This will defense against batch scanning program.

A person using Imesh successfully protect himself against MPAA's agent using ZoneAlarm
(Before using ZoneAlarm&C ticket
After using ZoneAlarm:No D&C ticket)

2.Hide behind a SOCKS5 proxy

If MPAA download from you and grab your IP,this will help.
If no SOCKS5 proxy available,try using TCP2HTTP which can help you hide behind a HTTP proxy.

3.Get Steganos Anonym,Evidence eliminator and Norton System Works

If you are sued......

There is a function in Steganos which is called "File Shredder" which can overwrite a file tons of times(Choose "Multiple") while destroying original file size,date,etc.

Shred infringing file immediately!

IF YOU DO NOT "SHRED" DATA YOU WANT TO DESTROY,DATA CAN BE RECOVERED EVEN YOU EMPTY YOUR RECYCLE BIN OR EVEN FORMAT YOUR HARD DISK.SHREDDING FILE IS THE ONLY WAY TO REMOVE DATA COMPLETELY!DELETING FILE DIRECTLY IS *EXTREAMLY* STUPID

Then use Norton Wipe Info to completely overwrite the whole hard disk ,do it for a lot of times.

After doing this,even the FBI can't recover any data from your hard drive

Method 1 and 2 can make you *safer*(Can't defend against pro hackers or package sniffing)

Method 3 can destroy evidence completely.
