    You can easily screenshot your desktop by hitting the Print Scrn and pasting it on your image editing software. But I realise it's impossible to use the same method to screenshot a video file eg, mpeg or avi.

    The area where the video plays is a black spot with nothing on it or if you leave the video on while you paste it, it will not move and act as though it wasn't in the picture but moving in the video in the image editing software itself...

    so how do you print scrn or screenshot the contents of a movie file??

    exactly. you need to use a player with a screenshot export function built in, because printscreen will not capture the video overlay. BSPlayer is a good choice.

    thanks and gd for me I used klite codec pack so I got it all along

    or u can turn overlay of, and take the screenshot.
    i have mine turned of since my video out doesnt work with overlay
