    What do I need to do in XP-LITE to be able to install word on my computer ?

    I know it's possible, I just don't remmber how

    whats the problem, how cant you install word?

    Do you mean that I can install Word 97 on window xp pro without setting anything, & without problems?

    I did that some month ago, and had problems with a popup of uncompatibility each time I was using word.

    Run it in a compatibility mode for windows 98 or 95 or something.
    Right click the executable, go to properties, compatibility, then select whatever.

    I've got XP home and Word 97 is running fine, actually it's more stable than it was on Windows 98. However, I think that you have to install Word as a part of Microsoft Office, I don't think that you can run it alone as it shares files with other bits of Office. Having said that, if you install Office, you don't have to install any other apps if you don't want to, the necessary core files will install automatically.
