i had a pirated xp boot screen, just said pirated xp service crack 1, it fucked up my pc, i guess i didnt do it right

Just use that program, it should work find. Even if you don't know wtf your doing.

It worked okay for me, the problem with it is that you can't see any screens for programs like Ghost or boottime defragmenting reports if you're using it.

when you download a bootscreen make sure it's designed for XPsp1 or just XP.
It should be noted in the info doc that comes with the boot screen.
before you do anything, just copy your ntoskrnl.exe to another directory for backup.
If it really screws things up, though, you'll have to boot to your Windows XP cd and use the recovery console to fix it.
