Yeah, that was legendary.
This movie has too many great quotes to list them all!
In a film that is infinitely quotable this line tends to be overlooked, but it is just as hilarious as “This is bowling, not ‘Nam, there are rules.” and probably used a whole lot less. Also, I kind of feel like Walter sometimes, though I’d like to believe I’m possess more self awareness, despite probably being as abrasive.
"Aragorn: Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of Men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand! Men of the West!" -
-- The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King
My favorite quotes from the books wall exorcised from the movie "I am Aragorn son of Arathorn; and if by life or death I can save you, I will. ..." Btw the movie totally fucks up the whole Prancing Pony/Bree/Blackriders thing (crossing of the ford ffs) which is one of the reasons I don't especially like the movies....
... "She should not die, so fair, so desperate! At least she should not die alone, unaided". spoken by Merry during the defeat of the Ringwratih King.
....."Maybe we shall cleave a road, or make such an end as will be worth a song - if any be left to sing of us hereafter" Aragorn before riding forth from Helm's Deep
......'We may stand, if only on one leg, or at least be left still upon our knees." Pippin to Faramir .Of all the various atrocities done to the books the quote here from whole Minas Tirith section is clearly the worst one.
Respect my lack of authority.
I don't know who you are...
From the movie "Fracture":
Prosecutor: "He just provoked my witness with an outrageous allegation!"
Defendant: "My 'Dick' has evidence."
Judge: "Excuse me?"
Defendant: "My 'Dick'; my private investigator. I call him 'Dick'."
