But a year and a half, two years ago we were looking at the constant problems we were having with security and hacks. The level of maliciousness of the hacks was getting frightening. We stopped all other work. We got the architecture people to look at each part of the code, and work out how would people attack it, and based on that tried to reduce the surface area, what&#39;s the exposed part of the product, the ways the system was listening to the network.

    Remember this is marketing hype though. I think it is just an XP update to make the server and security functions work. Sort of.

    I&#39;ll stay with windows2000- any version, and most linux mainstream builds.

    xp pro - and for my info....what the schmell is xp pro corporate? an open license agreement? that would b no different than xp pro in the box.

    98se for n00bs.
    2k for slower systems,
    and xp for systems tahtc an take it, with all the crap turned of and tweaked to hell to get rid of all the inbuilt stuff.

    at least when your system crashes you dont get this &#39;ugly&#39; blue screen like in 98.
