Haha, my ancient (by gaming standards) computer matches or beats the min specs...I wonder how well the game's optimised for scaling.

I loved Mafia 1 because it was a linear experience with a well written story, so I'll be picking this up too

That's what most people will do, just like when Starcraft II was "out"...
btw, I loved the first game mainly because of the story. The game was also great but the story was simply amazing in my opinion.
Now I just can hope that the storyline of this sequence is as good as the first one.
